The skirt is just fine tulle doubled twice and gathered. The shoes are 1/2" Satin Ribbon folded and sewn to look like slippers with narrow ribbon sewn in place around the ankle to look like the straps. Thank You for your compliment. I love your felt ribbon candy too! The ones I've seen made out of ribbon don't look substantial enough & it's too hard to find wire-edged candy-look ribbon locally. I dont have the exact recipe but I know it is made with bread balls covered in popy seeds and put in to large bowl with milk and honey and server as sort of a soup. The felt, especially the peppermint swirls, take an awful lot of time but they are just so darn cute when finished it's worth it!
